Philosophy and Objectivity

Philosophy
The program aims to produce graduates equipped with proficiency in communication science, expertise in the Thai language, abilities to utilize technology, and demonstrate professional ethics. This entails effective communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for job performance, being dependable experts in the Thai language, capable of providing accurate advice, knowing how to utilize appropriate technology to achieve goals, and performing all duties ethically.

Objectivity

  1. To produce graduates with expertise in the Thai language in line with the national strategies for human resource potential development, as outlined in the plan for higher education aimed at producing and developing the country’s workforce (2021-2027, revised edition 2023-2027).
  2. To produce graduates proficient in Thai language for communication in various careers. The graduates must be able to exercise listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills integrated with knowledge and skills to adapt to change, demonstrate diligence, patience, and technological proficiency, and instill responsibility, honesty, and respect for societal rules, aligning with the needs of graduate users.
  3. To produce graduates meeting higher education qualification standards in accordance with the undergraduate learning outcome requirements (2022), focusing on four areas: knowledge, skills, ethics, and personal characteristics.

Program Learning Outcomes: PLOs

The curriculum aims to produce graduates in response to the directions, policies, national and university strategies, as well as the needs of stakeholders, and aligns with the four criteria outlined in the announcement of the Higher Education Standards Committee regarding details of learning outcomes according to the Higher Education Qualification Standards 2022. This includes a focus on producing graduates with the ability to think analytically and synthetically, capable of seeking knowledge throughout life, and grounded in a sense of national love, gratitude, discipline, and social responsibility. Graduates of this program possess the following abilities in each of the following areas:

1) Khowledge
PLO1 Ability to explain knowledge of Thai language, literature, and culture.
PLO2 Ability to apply knowledge of Thai language, literature, and culture. For content creation, writing, public relations work and academic work.
PLO3 Ability to explain knowledge in the humanities, general social sciences, changes in digital technology, and the use of information technology in the Thai language for communication.

2) Skills
PLO4 Possess communication skills in Thai and English for everyday use and work in the Thai language for communication, including listening, speaking, reading, writing, and presenting work as intended. In the case that students choose to study Chinese, they should be able to communicate in Chinese in daily life.
PLO5 Possess skills in using information technology for searching, collecting, compiling, analyzing, and presenting academic work, including use in everyday life.
PLO6 Possess thinking skills and the ability to analyze logically to solve research problems in the Thai language with academic ethics.
PLO7 Possess self-care skills to create good health.

3) Ethics
PLO8 Exhibit honesty and gratitude.
PLO9 Express responsibility for oneself, social regulations and professional ethics.

4) Character
PLO10 Recognize the value of Thai identity, exhibit a spirit of volunteering, and serve as a support for others in the Thai language.
PLO11 Demonstrate discipline, leadership, skills to be both as a quality leader and a follower, ability to work together as a team.

Career path

1. The writer selects, composes, and applies content, as well as checks the use of language and accuracy of the content to be published via various media platforms. The characteristics of the written work are as follows:

    • Fiction work, such as writing short stories and novels for publication in books and online applications.
    • Marketing promotion involving tasks like crafting slogans or content to effectively communicate and enhance the image of products, individuals, or organizations.
    • Mass media work including roles such as content writing, television scriptwriting, screenplay writing, news reporting, and editing.

2. Public relations personnel plan and execute public relations strategies both internally and externally to enhance the positive image of government and private organizations. This involves disseminating information through various media channels and creating PR materials such as press releases, articles, photos, videos, and slides, as well as conducting interviews with executives or designated spokespersons on special occasions. Additionally, they oversee the publication of special event coverage for diverse groups of audiences.

3. Language and cultural academics research collecting and analyze data on language, literature, and local culture to preserve them as national characteristics. They develop plans and projects for cultural promotion, propagate and cultivate culture, and provide advice on rules, regulations, and procedures related to culture. This includes academic roles within the Department of Cultural Promotion and positions as local cultural scholars.

4. Cultural information creators develop and implement cultural content, whether as products, services, or through new media platforms. This role encompasses positions such as Creative directors and Content Creators, who collaborate with production teams for movies, dramas, series, games, and cultural product designers. Additionally, they design experiences for cultural tourism.

Able to study master’s and doctoral degrees in Thai Language, Thai Literature, Folklore, or other relevant disciplines at any educational institution, both domestic and international.
