School of Liberal Arts, Walailak University, Continues the Thai Songkran Tradition in 2026

On April 1, 2026, the School of Liberal Arts, Walailak University, organized the “Songkran Water-Pouring Ceremony for Elders 2026” at the Spark Meeting Room, Academic Building 1. The event aimed to preserve Thai cultural traditions and strengthen relationships within the organization.

The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Jaran Boonkanjan, Vice President for Academic Affairs in Humanities and Social Sciences, while Associate Professor Dr. Sarawut Palipoj, Vice President for Academic Affairs in Health Sciences, delivered New Year blessings to faculty and staff for prosperity and good fortune.

Activities included the Buddha bathing ritual for auspiciousness and the traditional water-pouring ceremony to pay respect to elders, reflecting the beauty of Thai cultural identity through respect, gratitude, and the continuation of social values.

The event was filled with a warm and memorable atmosphere, with active participation from administrators, faculty members, staff, and students, fostering unity and a strong sense of community within the School of Liberal Arts.
