Walailak School of Liberal Arts Ph.D. Program Conducts Successful Academic Visit to Guangxi University

The Ph.D. Program in Liberal Arts, School of Liberal Arts, Walailak University, successfully completed a comprehensive one-week academic visit to Guangxi University (GXU) from 20 to 26 June 2026, to establish concrete research partnerships and institutional exchange frameworks. The faculty team comprised three core lecturers from the Ph.D. program, led by Chair Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapas Dejpawuttikul, alongside Asst. Prof. Phitsinee Koad and Dr. Wu Tianyi.

Throughout the mission, the team engaged in a series of strategic consultative meetings across four key administrative and academic divisions at GXU. The visit commenced with the International Cooperation and Exchange Department (ICED) to set the framework for a future university-level Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Discussions advanced at the GXU School of Liberal Arts, focusing on faculty exchange, joint doctoral advising, and editorial collaborations for the Asian Journal of Arts and Culture (AJAC). The team then met with the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures to align research trajectories in Area Studies and high-tier international publications. The academic visit concluded at the China-ASEAN Research Institute (CARI), where both institutions agreed to draft a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to provide direct institutional support for collaborative research initiatives on Southern Thailand. This week-long visit successfully laid down the operational foundation for long-term internationalization and cross-border doctoral co-advising between the two universities.
