The School of Liberal Arts (SLA), Walailak University, sent students to participate in the short-term program “Understanding China Through the Yangtze River” in Wuhan
The School of Liberal Arts (SLA), Walailak University, sent students to participate in the short-term program “Understanding China Through the Yangtze River” in Wuhan, People’s Republic of China, from 18–31 May 2026. The program, funded by Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), aimed to enhance students’ international experience and deepen their understanding of Chinese language, culture, and society through learning along the Yangtze River.
A total of 11 Walailak University students joined the program, including four students from the School of Liberal Arts. Among them was Ms. Sutthimon Thavornphongsathit, 4th year student representing the English Program.
The participating students came from the Schools of Liberal Arts, Management, Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, Nursing, and Education, reflecting Walailak University’s commitment to promoting global learning opportunities and intercultural engagement across disciplines.
Key activities included learning about Chinese language, culture, and society through visits to iFLYTEK, Xiaomi, Yellow Crane Tower, and Hubei Provincial Museum. The students were supported and coordinated by Asst.Prof.Dr. Pawares Funoi, Head of the Chinese Program, and Ms.Anutsara Ruengmak ,Assistant to the Dean for Student Affairs,School of Liberal Arts, Walailak University.
This participation reflects the growing academic collaboration between Walailak University and leading Chinese institutions in developing globally competent graduates equipped with intercultural understanding and international perspectives.
