Senior Students Share Internship Insights from Airports, Customs Offices, and Immigration

On February 3, 2026, the English Program at Walailak University hosted an online experience-sharing session titled “The Stories from My Workplace: EP.5 – Airport and Custom House.” The activity aimed to introduce potential workplace opportunities and provide insights into job responsibilities for third-year students considering Cooperative Education placements in the aviation industry, immigration offices, and customs sectors.

The event was moderated by a third-year student, Aslam Pattanakul, who facilitated an engaging and informative discussion with six senior students: Kareemah Rabsaithong, Anantaya Thappum, Nattanont Yusoh, Duangporn Donsai, Punyisa Suktaem, and Thitiya Saila-iat. These seniors are currently undertaking internships at prominent organizations, including Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (Phuket International Airport and Krabi International Airport), Hat Yai International Airport Customs House, Surat Thani Immigration Office (Samui), and Don Mueang International Airport Immigration.

During the session, the seniors shared diverse perspectives on their internship experiences. They began by explaining key terms such as immigration, customs, and Airports of Thailand to help the audience better understand the roles and functions of these organizations. They also clarified their main responsibilities, discussed challenges they encountered, and explained how they addressed those challenges.

In addition, the speakers provided practical advice on accommodation, dress codes, and budget management, noting that none of their workplaces offer financial support for interns. They also recommended alternative workplaces that they believe may be suitable options for future Cooperative Education students.
