Philosophy and Objectivity
Philosophy of the Curriculum
The curriculum is designed to cultivate graduates who excel academically, are proficient in practice, innovative in educational methodologies, and committed to the teaching profession.
Objectives of the Curriculum
- To elevate the production and development of teachers into a high professional level both quantitatively and qualitatively, aligned with the goals of the 13th National Economic and Social Development Plan (2023 – 2027).
- To meet the needs of communities, localities, and the country in producing teachers who are both morally sound and academically excellent, and who will serve in their local communities.
- To produce educational graduates who meet the professional standards according to the Teachers’ Council of Thailand, including standards of professional knowledge and experience, work performance, and personal conduct.
- To produce graduates with the standards according to Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education as specified in learning outcomes of undergraduates in 2022 in all four aspects: Knowledge, Skills, Ethics, and Character.
Program Learning Outcomes: PLOs
The curriculum aims to produce graduates who respond to the directives, policies, and strategies of the nation and university, including the stakeholders’ requirement in align with the four areas, as specified in the Announcement of the Higher Education Standards Committee concerning about learning outcomes according to Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education in 2022. Specifically, it aims to produce graduates with the ability to think critically and synthesize, and to seek knowledge throughout their lives with a sense of patriotism, gratitude, discipline, and social responsibility. Graduates of this curriculum possess the following characteristics:
1) Knowledge (Knowledge)
PLO1 Elucidate concepts and methods of adaptation amidst changing situations in various aspects of society, economy, and environment to promote sustainability.
PLO2 Explicate the changes in information technology in the digital age. PLO3 Identify, delineate, and interpret factual data according to the principles of teaching.
PLO4 Provide reasoning from diverse perspectives on situations or data that appear in conceptual terms that are consistent with or related to the principles of teaching.
PLO5 Apply knowledge of teaching to differentiate, compare, and connect various components or aspects of data or events leading to problem-solving and teacher development.
PLO6 Apply knowledge of teaching to evaluate teaching practices and design learning management for teacher development.
PLO7 Explicate concepts, theories, and specific subject knowledge in the following areas: Thai language, English language, Social Studies, Thai Dance, Physical Education, Early Childhood Education, General Science, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer and Technology.
PLO8 Apply specific subject knowledge in the following areas: Thai language, English language, Social Studies, Thai Dance, Physical Education, Early Childhood Education, General Science, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer and Technology for student-centered learning management. For the Dance and Early Childhood Education majors, additional learning outcomes in knowledge are:
PLO9 Identify the identities of different types of dance art in the era.
PLO10 Design activities in early childhood education for the holistic development of learners.
2) Skills (Skills)
PLO11 Possess communication skills in both Thai and English for daily life.
PLO12 Possess skills in playing sports and exercising to promote good physical and mental well-being.
PLO13 Possess skills in utilizing information technology for communication and learning management.
PLO14 Possess learning management skills according to the United Kingdom Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) to teach and support quality learning using both Thai and English.
PLO15 Possess educational research skills for the development of learning management.
PLO16 Possess project skills in specific subject areas such as General Science, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer and Technology. Additional learning outcomes in skills for Thai Dance, Physical Education and Early Childhood Education majors are as follows:
2.1) Thai Dance Major
PLO17 Possess skills in performing Thai dance, folk dance, and contemporary dance.
2.2) Physical Education Major
PLO18 Possess skills in training, organizing competitions, and officiating both Thai and international sports.
PLO19 Possess skills in developing holistic well-being of learners.
PLO20 Possess skills in promoting learners’ physical fitness and movement.
2.3) Early Childhood Education Major
PLO21 Possess skills in applying various activities to develop early childhood learners.
3) Ethics (Ethics)
PLO26 Perform work and conduct oneself according to the teacher’s professional code of ethics.
PLO27 Be honest, grateful, disciplined, and take responsibility for oneself and society.
4) Character (Character)
PLO28 Demonstrate the characteristics of a teacher who can adapt and solve problems amidst diversity.
PLO29 Exhibit leadership skills as a leader and follower, collaborate with others, and have a volunteer spirit.
Career path
- Teacher at Basic Education Level Job Description: Prepare, plan, and design appropriate learning activities of the assigned courses for students at basic education level . Manage classrooms to facilitate students’ learning. Supervise and advise students on moral and ethical issues. Act as an advisor to students. Coordinate between the school and students’ parents under supervision. Pursue further studies in education at graduate level.
- Educator Job Description: Perform academic duties related to analysis, research, plan and policy formulation, educational standards, curricula at all levels, curriculum development, textbooks, educational media; provide educational support including inspection, monitoring, and evaluation of education management.
- Training and Development Officer Job Description: Study, analyze, research to develop training systems and curricula, develop models and technologies by providing training and academic services for personnel development, conduct training, monitor, evaluate, and support personnel development.
- Independent Educational Specialist Job Description: Provide knowledge and academic assistance to enhance potential and skills of individual students or groups of learners at basic education level, including developing teaching pedagogy skills of teachers in the education system, improving classroom atmosphere, developing materials and media that promote students’ skills, development, and creativity.
