Philosophy and Objectivity

Philosophy
The Bachelor of Arts program in Chinese Language aims to meet the aspirations of the university in developing individuals to be good and competent people. The program is committed to producing graduates equipped with ethics, morality, knowledge, skills in Chinese language, communication abilities, and the ability to apply knowledge in various professions in society. The program also aim to cultivate effective multiculturalism and promote further education for personal development, career advancement, and national development. This is ultimately guided by the philosophy of “Language Proficiency, Intellectual Excellence, and Morality: Applying Chinese Language to Professional Practice.”

Objectivity

  1. The program aims to produce graduates who can meet the needs of both the public and private sectors, aligning with the national strategy for development and enhancement of human resource potential to nurture individuals to be good and competent, and capable of working effectively. Additionally, the program aims to produce graduates proficient in Chinese language to meet the demands of the labor market in both business and tourism sectors.
  2. The program aims to align its graduates with the vision outlined in the National Education Development Plan to produce and develop the country’s workforce, according to the revised version of the plan (BE 2566-2570). This aligns with Strategy 1: Developing Human Potential to enhance and elevate the quality of Chinese language learners to support the country’s development in response to global trends.
  3. The program aims to produce graduates in line with the mission and strategy of the university, focusing on promoting expertise in Chinese language. It encourages students to pursue master’s degrees that align with the professional skills of the curriculum, aiming for graduates who are highly competent in both language and professional practice.
  4. The program is set to produce graduates who encompass characteristics consistent with the learning outcomes of the Bachelor of Arts program in Chinese Language and the four dimensions of learning outcomes as specified by the Education Standards Committee in the details of learning outcomes according to the standards of academic qualifications (BE 2565).

Program Learning Outcomes: PLOs

The curriculum aims to produce graduates that align with national policies and strategies, as well as the needs of stakeholders, in accordance with the four dimensions specified by the Education Standards Committee in the details of learning outcomes according to the standards of academic qualifications (BE 2565). It also emphasizes the production of graduates with analytical and synthetic abilities, capable of seeking knowledge throughout their lives, based on a sense of patriotism, love for the nation, discipline, and social responsibility. Graduates who successfully complete this program will be defined by the following abilities in each dimension:

1) Knowledge
PLO1 Ability to explain the social, economic, and cultural conditions of China, including perspectives on the global society.
PLO2 Ability to apply Chinese language vocabulary effectively in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
PLO3 Ability to apply Chinese language knowledge for communication in translation, business, or tourism purposes (depending on elective courses).

2) Skills 
PLO4 Ability to communicate proficiently in Chinese as a foreign language, along with Thai and English, in various contexts.
PLO5 Ability to apply digital technology skills necessary for research and presentation of information.
PLO6 Ability to demonstrate continuous learning skills and logical reasoning abilities.

3) Ethics
PLO7 Ability to take responsibility for oneself and society.
PLO8 Ability to desmonstrate honesty and compliance with regulations.

4) Character
PLO9 Ability to adapt to diverse societal and global changes.
PLO10 Ability to demonstrate leadership skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others and volunteer, with a sense of responsibility.

Career path

  1. Interpreters and translators work in oral interpretation or document translation, such as company interpreters, factory interpreters, hospital interpreters, book translators, and film script translators, among others
  2. Business personnel work in import-export activities, such as entrepreneurs, secretaries, coordinators, and facilitators
  3. Tourism personnel work in tourist services, such as tour guides, tour company employees, hotel staff, and airport personnel.
  4. Chinese language instructors work in both public and private sectors, teaching Chinese language

Study path

Able to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees in Chinese or other disciplines at any domestic or international educational institution.
