English Program Hosts 3rd SLA Film Fair Showcasing Literary Creativity Through Film
On February 12, 2026, the English Program at Walailak University organized the 3rd SLA Film Fair, titled “Where Stories Come Alive and Creativity Takes the Spotlight.” The event celebrated and showcased students’ creativity, achievements, and knowledge of English literature through film adaptations. This year marked the first collaboration between students from the School of Liberal Arts enrolled in Contemporary Novel (ENG63-332) and students from the School of Education taking World Literature for Teachers of English (ENG66-312).
The festival featured student-produced short films created as part of these courses. During the event, students adapted classical, modern, and postmodern novels, novellas, and short stories into short films. Their work demonstrated a strong understanding of narrative techniques, themes, and stylistic elements while highlighting their creativity and interpretative skills.
