On September 22, 2025, the English Program at Walailak University organized the 2nd SLA Film Fair, titled Royal of the Far East, to celebrate and showcase students’ creativity, achievements, and knowledge in English literature through films. The event featured student-produced short films created as part of the courses Studies on the Contemporary Novel (ENG63-331) and Trends and Forces in British and American Fiction (ENG64-331). In this festival, students adapted well-known classical, modern, and postmodern novels, novellas, and short stories into short films, demonstrating their understanding of narrative techniques, themes, and stylistic elements.
