The Chinese Language Department has established a cooperation with Chumchonmai School, Thasala, Nakhon Si Thammarat to enhance Chinese language and cultural exchange.
On January 30, 2024, Dr. Katematu Duangmanee, the project leader responsible for the course CHI62-312, Chinese Language Teaching, Chinese Program, School of Liberal Arts, Walailak University, and Ms. Yin Xingyue, a Chinese volunteer from the Office of Chinese Language Council International (TOCLCI or HANBAN), established a collaboration with Chumchonmai School in Thasala, Nakhon Si Thammarat. This local school is affiliated with the university.
The collaboration aims to enhance students’ knowledge of Chinese language and culture through educational outreach activities beyond the campus. Students enrolled in the CHI62-312 course will practice their teaching skills by instructing Chumchonmai School students in Chinese language and culture. This initiative supports the development of third language learning and lifelong learning skills, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4.3.4, which focuses on organizing activities to promote education outside the university.
