School of Liberal Arts led by Thai program took the school\u2019s choir through to the grand-finale round won the 1st place trophy on an auspicious occasion of the 31st Walailak University Foundation Anniversary. The competition was held on 29th of March, 2023, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm in Thaiburee Auditorium.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The choir of 20 students, along with 5 Krishnai Svetsilakon cheerleaders, representing the School of Liberal Arts joined a singing competition on the 31st Walailak University Foundation Anniversary. The contest was organized by the Student Promotion and Development Division
\nand joined by over 16 Schools and the College of Veterinary Medicine. Presiding over the contest was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Voravuth Somsak, Acting Vice President, along with a congress of administrators, staff, faculty and students joining to encourage the competing teams.<\/p>\n

In the contest, each team was assigned \u201cLove Walailak\u201d as a requirement together with one randomly selected song. For this, the School of Liberal Arts got \u201cFight with the heart\u201d for the latter piece. In addition to these two songs, the SLA choir also performed \u201cBlue heart\u201d and \u201cWalailak is our home, School of Liberal Arts in our heart\u201d with Krishnai Svetsilakon cheerleaders choreographing the dance.<\/p>\n

The School of Liberal Arts won the first prize, followed by the School of Pharmacy, School of Political Sciences and Public Administration, School of Public Health and School of Informatics awarded the 1st Runner-up, the 2nd Runner Up Award, the 3rd Runner Up Award and the 4th Runner Up Award respectively.<\/p>\n

The choir practice was overseen by SLA faculty members including Ms. Thatdao Rakmak, Mr. Korrakot Khamheang, Ms. Supaporn Kongton and Ms. Kamkaew Maneerote. Mr. Korrakot, Lecturer in Thai Program overseeing the practice and also composer of the SLA songs commented on the students\u2019 dedication leading to this pride.<\/p>\n

\u201cStudents put in lots of hard work to win this prize. We met for the practice quite late, especially given that it is the period with final exams just around the corner. Another challenge would be to compose an entirely new song for the school from scratch. We needed to rush against time to finish them and rehearse them with no music yet, so we needed to be very precise on the rhythms, \u201csaid Mr. Korrakot.<\/p>\n
